Marc Blatstein comments on Shoveling and Lower Back Pain

The better shovel, and lower back discomfort, Dr Blatstein

The Problem

Most items in this space are not ergonomically built as to be back friendly. Therefore, whether you are a baby boomer (an ever growing part of our exploding population), or a younger demographic- protecting your back sooner or later will become a very conscious effort.

The Solution

Solving the problem:
1- The main shaft is ergonomically curved, and has several telescoping joints allowing it to collapse by up to 2/3 of its length. The curved main shaft aids in reducing pressure on your back.
2- A handle that can pivot from either 2-3 positions also aids in reducing pressure on your back.
3- Attachments are available for either ‘winter’ or ‘spring-summer-fall’, all attaching to the same Main Shaft.
a) Winter: Ice scraper seeds into the shovel for easy removal, The brush portion is stored within the shaft’s hollow tubing, where it can be swiveled out for use & then left out for the season or retracted back into the main Shaft.
b) Spring-summer-fall: Options for Camping/Gardening/and the beach, includes a shovel (as seen in pics), along with appropriate attachments.
* All attachments are made to be easily clipped in. Removal when required is also an easy task.
* All materials are to be strong but light in weight.
